HEALING GUIDE
Immediately After Your Appointment
-
Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo.
-
Remove the bandage within 1–2 hours after getting tattooed.
-
Do not re-bandage the tattoo — it needs to breathe.
-
Wash the tattoo gently using antibacterial liquid soap and only your hands.
-
Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do not rub or use rough fabrics.
First Night
-
If needed, wrap the tattoo in Saran Wrap before bed to prevent sticking to bedding.
-
Do not use cloth bandages or pads, as fibres can stick to the tattoo.
Days 1–4
-
Apply a very thin layer of unscented lotion or ointment 1–2 times daily as needed.
-
Always use clean hands when applying products.
-
Do not use Vaseline, petroleum jelly, or Neosporin.
-
Wear clean, soft clothing and avoid abrasive fabrics.
-
For foot tattoos: go barefoot when possible. If wearing shoes, wrap the tattoo in Saran Wrap and wear a clean cotton sock.
Days 3–4
-
Peeling and flaking will begin — this is completely normal.
-
Do not pick or scratch the tattoo.
-
Switch to a mild, white, unscented lotion free of dyes and perfumes.
First 2 Weeks
-
Avoid pools, hot tubs, lakes, saunas, direct sunlight, and tight clothing.
-
Continue moisturizing as needed while the tattoo heals.
-
Treat your tattoo like an open wound and keep it clean at all times.
